I know "we are everywhere," but where is the most unexpected place you've run into Deadheads or seen references to the band?

I've been a cyclist for years (yep, one of those guys in advertising-festooned lycra with shaved legs who seem to send motorists into fits of apoplexy) and I saw a two-page ad in a bike magazine with a rider on the Scarlet-Fire racing team.

seems the two communities have a lot in common - PEDs

edit: to be very clear - THAT IS NOT ME! I would never subject my fellow humans to that type of horror!

I'll see your MAMIL (middle-aged man in lycra) and raise you this gentleman.

A very close friend spends his life as a Captain for a Motor Yacht, visiting places I can only dream about. We get to live vicariously though his photos and posts. This is a post he made about a year ago....

Post Office Bay, Floreana Island, Galapagos

So the Nantucket whalers would drop off mail in the barrel on Floreana, one of the only Galapagos islands with fresh water. Then if they were full of oil and heading home would stop and carry all outgoing mail back to New England. New ships in the area would drop off new mail. It would only take 3-4 years to get a reply.
Now, as our guests did, you can take mail back to your home country and see it gets delivered. There were still plenty of cards from 6 months ago in the barrel.

I came up on some large stashes of bootlegs on cassette while in Nepal. A well received break from the large psy trance scene there.

Namaste

Perhaps the coolest thing I've seen here in quite a while.

Along those same lines I am now thinking about opening a small furniture repair shop (should I be thinking internationally here?). As long as there is this music I don't see any problem getting new business.

I'm nowhere 'cos RBNW (dumb and dumber) says so. He's into men wearing kevlar under lycra hitting each other with sticks in the name of sport, so he must be right.

Greetings from nowhere (hic).
